When I went to Hawaii with my friend Jodi, I made the mistake of trying to pack several hats.  I felt I needed a hat for every occasion; walking on the beach, sitting on the beach, attending a luau on the beach - you get the idea.  So why was this a mistake?  Because I didn't have the right kinds of hats.  My luggage was filled with bulky hats, leaving little room for souvenirs.
