Coral Fruit and Floral

As much as a love this dress, I've always felt limited in the ways I could style it:

Usually with black shoes of some sort and each wearing varied only by the presence or absence of black tights.

Then, the other day, I had an epiphany and this happened:

And it was pretty much the best thing ever.

Am I still wearing black shoes?  Yes.  And are the proportions pretty wacky?  Also yes.  But, it's also one of my favorite things I've ever put together:

Seriously, I love this outfit.

I love the cut and print of the dress and I love the coral and jade earrings with it:

Earrings: Crafty Wonderland (similar, similar, similar studs)

And don't get me started on these pants.  I, obviously, want to wear them with everything:

Dress: vintage (similar color) (similar cut) (good layering option)
Pants: LOFT  Shoes: Steve Madden (similar) (similar)

But, that's only because they go with everything.

Orange Dots

This tank delights me to no end:

Those are orange dots.  No, not dots in the color of orange.  Dots that are, in fact, oranges:

Delightful, right?  I mean, for the most part; I did have quite a few people stare at my chest trying to puzzle out what they were seeing.  But, it was totally worth it to be in possession of a shirt where the dots are oranges.

Also delightful?  Everything in this outfit, minus the underpinnings, is either thrifted, gifted or won.  The tank and the skirt are both thrifted.  The watch was gifted by my beau and the bracelet was gifted by the lovely folks at RedEnvelope.  And I actually won the Jambu sandals from onlineshoes.com by voting for dash dot dotty in a contest they held!

Happy Friday, All!

Stripes and Oranges

I frickin' love this eShakti dress:

It's comfy, it's flattering and it goes with everything I love.  Like huaraches and orange brooches:

Seriously; anything that goes with my beloved huaraches (thrifted) and my orange brooch (thrifted) is A-OK in my book.  Also, stripes.  Stripes are so great.

And that's all I have to say about that.

Happy Monday, All!

Short and Fruity

It's true.  This dress is short.  And fruity.  But, I love it so:

I got the dress from the Albany Antique Mall (they have a pretty great vintage clothing section) the weekend before last and immediately fell in love with the print.  Yes, it is shorter than I would usually wear without some volume to offset the shortness, but it is a great print and the high neck is fun.  Oh, and it looks fabulous with my Lynne Pin:

And I think it will also look fabulous with tights and a turtleneck in the winter; that way I won't have to worry so much about the length.  Or lack there of.  As it was, I drove in to work today to insure I didn't flash any of the middle school students I ride past every morning.

In addition to the pin (gifted from Lynne because she is the best ever), I also added a thin belt (Macy's) and pointed toe boots (Luxury Rebel via Piperlime) to the look:

I think the boots somehow served to both modernize the look and recall the dress' sixties origins at the same time.  Which was totally my intention, as far as you know.

Happy Wednesday, All!
