Bright and Paisley

Although I generally prefer my paisley in more subdued tones, especially for fall, I can't resist this bright paisley dress:

Especially because I thrifted it for a mere $7 (maybe $8).  I mean, I'd be a fool to pass that up, right?

It's just so bright.  And happy!  And red.  I don't wear a lot of red (I have exactly two red dresses) but I love me some red paisley.  The red is the perfect background for the amoeba-like shapes of the paisley.

Dress, Belt, Shoes - all thrifted

Red.  Amoebas.  Thrifted.  Seriously, can a dress get any better?

Flowers

This dress is covered in flowers:

And is, therefore, the perfect dress to link up with Mis Papelicos for this week's Share-In-Style Link Party.

Because, as you probably guessed, the theme is flowers:

I actually own a lot (no, really, A LOT) of floral dresses, but this one is the most summery.  And it has pockets:

So, yeah, it's basically the best.

The dress is thrifted and I paired it with a thrifted belt, thrifted shoes and a cameo I bought at a rummage sale:

The brooch is etched on the back: Dick Puckett, 1958.  I guess that's the maker?  If so, I'd like to thank Mr. Puckett for making such a lovely piece.

And I'd like to thank Mis Papelicos for hosting this fabulous, flower-filled link party!

Happy Wednesday, All!

July Showers

It’s been raining a bit here in Oregon and instead of complaining, I decided to take the opportunity to carry my new plaid umbrella:

It’s vintage and it’s tiny but it’s also plaid and I think I love it.

I know I love how it looked with my polka dot dress & olive jacket:

Dress, Jacket & Umbrella: thrifted  Belt: LOFT  Boots: Nine West

It’s going to head back up into the 90s again this weekend, which makes me happy, but I’m also happy that Oregon is Oregon and I had a reason to carry an umbrella in July.  Because it’s plaid and I think I love it.

Happy Friday, All!
