Nope. I’m just green
with poor photography skills. Unfortunately,
I had to take these photos inside and I had to take them myself (the horror!),
so the end result is green Gracey in a cute outfit:
Now let’s talk about the cute outfit, shall we? It looks like pants and a tunic, but it's actually a dress over pants. See?
The dress is obviously too long to be worn over pants, but I
didn’t want to wear it alone as the holiday party I was attending was in a
bowling alley. A nice bowling alley, but
still, a bowling alley. So, I belted the
dress with a skinny belt and then pulled it up to hang over the belt, creating
a sort of blouson effect. Et voila, my dress is now a tunic:
In addition to the dress-as-tunic (vintage via Goodwill) and
cropped pants (Vince Camuto via Nordstrom), I also wore leopard pumps (Merona
“Maye” via Target):

I finished off the look with a vintage gold clutch
(Goodwill), a couple of vintage bangles (Red Fox Vintage) and my black mini-bubble
necklace:
And there you have it, what I wore for my holiday party. What about about you Reader Friends? Are you attending any holiday parties this year? If so, what are you wearing?!
Happy Friday, Everyone!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Gracey

Gracey, your hair is fabulous. I love it pulled to the side like that. And what a great idea with the dress. I hope you had a good time.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! What a creative idea!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to one tonight and don't know what to wear! Worst!

Wow, glitzy and glamorous and gorgeous Gracey! You look a little too good for a bowling alley, I hope you were appreciated! Love the leopard shoes and the gold clutch.
ReplyDeleteNo parties planned but a cabaret evening is coming up next weekend, which I think will require a ridiculous outfit. I am sure I'll think of something! xxx
Beautiful Outfit! You look amazing!
ReplyDeletefollow new ,mind follow back?
kisses :)
That is really very pretty.
ReplyDeleteGracey, you always look so put together! I love wearing shorter dresses as tunics, and you did this one brilliantly! I hope you had fun bowling! I know what you mean about photography skills too! I feel very green myself!

Brilliant! And perfect crops.
ReplyDeleteThe answer to the title is actually "yes"....I'm green with envy over how gorgeous you look! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou'll always be our favorite jolly green giant, Gracey. So purdy! I don't think I have any dresses right now that I can do that to, but I'm going to keep the en-tunicking idea in my little brainpan for future reference...
ReplyDeleteGreat way of using your dress as a tunic for a night out! Sounds like you had fun. I don't usually go to any official parties, but I'm sure to do some meet-up with whichever friends are back in town this year.
ReplyDeleteFab.U.Lous. Great holiday look, esp with the festive clutch. And yes I am green with (friendly) envy : >
ReplyDeleteCute outfit indeed. So clever to belt and lift it up. You created the perfect length.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love that dress and it looks great as a tunic! And you totally don't look green, but I can't really see past all the sparkles :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute outfit, Gracey. It looks wonderful for the holiday! Your hair looks really cute too!
ReplyDeletethis is just adorable
ReplyDeletegreat idea to belt the dress, i might have to steal that one
brett
You look stunning in this style...so beautifully tall and wonderfully stylishly glam. dawn suitcase vignettes xo
ReplyDeleteOh my, what a great idea! That tunic shape is really beautiful on you and I would have never guessed it was a dress. What a fun outfit for a party!
ReplyDeleteI love how you styled it and those shoes top it off!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! Cinching the dress makes a lovely silhouette, perfectly glamourous and bowling-excellent. I haven't decided any holiday-wear yet - just a couple of events, but I think I can guarantee myself being the most-overdressed, lol.
ReplyDeleteGreen Gracie you are gorgeous! Love the outfit ... love that you used the dress as a tunic. Hope the event was wonderful and that you go tons of compliments because you look stunning.
ReplyDeleteOOOO--you may look a tad green but it's cuz you are MONEY in this outfit!! love it--you were probably the glitziest gal at the bowling alley!
ReplyDeleteMy holiday outfit involved a santa apron and an elf hat with attached pointed ears.
You look so sweet - love your outfit!

Very cool idea for a very cool dress. You look smashingly lovely, if a tad green. That green hue happens to me sometimes, too, even outdoors. Must google, "Why am I green in pics?" :P
ReplyDeletethat is such an awesome holiday dress! better learn those white balance settings ;)
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
Photo tip- go to picmonkey.com and you can edit your pics. All is needed is to warm the temperature- slide over to the pink and downgrade the green and you'd look healthy as ever.
ReplyDeleteThe outfit is great- I hope you do a photoshoot retake!
Love this outfit, so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I wouldn't want to wear a dress to bowling either :) Very festive for a holiday party but demure for the occasion
