One of the looks I knew for certain I’d try this fall and
winter was black with brown. And then,
the other day, my charcoal sweater ended up next to my brown skirt and I
realized that I also needed to try gray
with brown. So, I did:
Specifically what I did was to pair that charcoal sweater
(Tulle) with a mocha-colored midi-skirt (vintage, thrifted). I added gray and black herringbone tights
(HUE), black shooties (BC Shoes) and my plaid infinity scarf (DIY’d).
And I’m glad I tried it, because I liked it. I think the look would have worked just as
well with a black sweater, but I think the charcoal with the mocha is a little
bit more unexpected. And I think the
plaid scarf was a little unexpected as well.
Well, maybe not on me as I wear this thing constantly, but in general
terms of clothing combinations, I’m totally cutting edge.
Happy Wednesday, Everyone!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Gracey

Knocked Up Fabulous
So, now I know why I need the brown jeggings I've had my eye on - they're for my grey dress! You've made a great colour combination, very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI really like the charcoal and mocha together--not as "typical" as black and brown--but very very flattering!!
ReplyDeleteYes, agreed, charcoal and mocha is very good! I think the scarf is really fab as well; this whole get-up is beautifully composed.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving, Gracey!
Now you see I would never have put those two shades together... And I would have been completely wrong, because they make a really great combination! Just shows you - what the hell do I know?! xxx
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty, Gracie.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous palette, and especially beautiful silhouette on you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors playing together, Gracey. The scarf is the lovely finishing piece.
ReplyDeleteUnexpected color combo, but very pretty!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy Thanksgiving, Gracey!
Love this look! Those colors look fab together!
ReplyDeleteGray with mocha/nude is such a chic color combination, it's one of my favorites! (That I apparently never wear. Hmm.) I love how this look came out, the mocha skirt with your gray top is gorgeous and soft, it has a little bit or a romantic feeling to it! (That diy scarf pulls the whole look together perfectly.)
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you as well!
That skirt it so, so pretty! The fabric looks just dreamy. Love the plaid scarf too, you look great!
ReplyDeleteSuch a picture perfect fall outfit! The color palette is gorgeous, as is your DIY'd scarf.

Stunning scarf and I love the color of that skirt.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so pretty. The scarf makes it work. I bought a double pack of Hue tights when i saw them yesterday while shopping, based on your recommendation. Excited to wear them today. Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteThis looks very, very good. I try imagining it without this wonderful scarf, but in my mind it won´t work. I guess you have really demonstrated to me the power of accessories, how they can make or break an outfit.
ReplyDeleteI don't know which impresses me more: your ability to dress well or your inherent kindness. You're something special, Gracey dear. Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteGirl, I really love this outfit. The colors work so well together - so much that I wish I had a pair of jeans or something in that skirt color. Hope you have a great thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteYou are totally cutting edge, Gracey. I love the plaid scarf everytime I see it, and the gray is smokin' with the browns. I think tall women are so lucky - everything looks lovely on you.
ReplyDeleteOoh, really nice. Such a great color palette -- perfect for fall and perfect for the Pacific NW! Grey is my favorite neutral.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and I, too, am a giant and plus sized. But I've got to say you DON'T look plus sized one bit!
ReplyDeleteSeeing all you thrifty fashionistas makes me want to participate but getting the guts is another story!

I like all these colors together! Not sure I have anything in my closet similar but I do definitely try to break fashion stereotypes or "rules" like black and brown can't go together :)
ReplyDeletereally like this look. Definitely works for me. Try it with a black sweater as well, but I think that would be too much black.
ReplyDeleteLovely look
