Back in eShakti Again

I have a couple of eShakti dresses in my closet that I absolutely adore, so when they offered me the opportunity to select and review an item, I was thrilled.  If you've seen the eShakti site, you know that they offer a huge selection, but I eventually decided on this drop-waist, tile print dress:

And it's perfect.  I am sometimes a bit iffy on drop-waist dresses, but this one comes with a self-belt so that the silhouette better fits my style:

The knit fabric also fits my style as dropped pleats in a stiffer fabric don't always play well with my hips.

Happily, eShakti is all about making their clothes fit your personal style.  They always customize by height, and I also changed the neckline from a high crew to high scoop and extended the sleeves from short sleeve to bracelet length:

The height customization is offered for free and any changes to neckline or sleeve type are done for a flat rate of $7.50.  You can also customize the garment using your exact measurements, also for the flat rate.  And if you want to change the height of the hemline, from mini to midi, for example, that can be done for free.

Personally, I think the length of this dress is perfect and all I did was enter my height:

Dress: c/o eShakti  Cardigan: thrifted (similar)
Tights: Spanx  Boots: Franco Sarto "Eminent"

So, if you're in the market for a new dress, I strongly recommend eShakti.  They're always having sales and, they've provided a coupon code for 10% off for my readers.  Just enter the code "fashionforgiants" in the promotional code box when you check out.  The code is good through February 29th.

Paisley and Navy

I like this dress for July because it still feels sort of patriotic, but also work appropriate:

Now, I'm not saying American flag cut-offs aren't work appropriate, but... American flag cut-offs probably aren't work appropriate.

A nice red paisley though?  You can probably get away with this at work:

Especially when paired with navy accessories:

See?  This outfit is both patriotic and totes work appropriate:

Dress: vintage, thrifted  Belt: Old Navy
Necklace: c/o Onecklace Earrings: gifted  Shoes: Camper

Black, White and Wine

This week's Work Your Closet Style Challenge over at Putting Me Together is to wear a dress.  And I was like, done and done:

Dress: vintage, thrifted (similar)  Tights: Target (similar)
Belt: vintage, thrifted  Boots: Nine West (similar)

Sure it's cold and snowy here in Pennsylvania, but I'll be darned if that keeps me from wearing one of my beloved dresses.

Nope, I just pulled out a sweater dress, added tights and ankle boots and et voila, Gracey's wearing a dress:

In this case, a vintage dress that I actually thrifted here in Pennsylvania.  I made them strip it right off the mannequin!  But, can you blame me?  The striped top is pretty cool:

So, heck yeah  I'm wearing a dress.  And I'm linking up to Putting Me Together.

Happy Thursday, All!

The Human Highlighter

I'm basically a human highlighter in this dress, but that doesn't stop me from wearing it:

It's just so comfortable.  And bright.  I mean, does it get any better than both bright and comfortable?  (Hint: the answer is no).

I did tone it down a little bit with my increasingly ubiquitous olive jacket:

Dress: Gap  Sandals: Target  Jacket: thrifted

I swear, I don't know why more people don't pair neon peach and olive together.  Pro Tip: Few things help lessen the human highlighter aspect of neon peach more than olive.  Of course, olive jacket or no, I'm still highly visible in this outfit & therefore am linking up to Visible Monday at Not Dead Yet Style.

Happy Monday, All!

Stripes and Bikes

Great news!  My complaining about the weather has finally caused Oregon to warm up.  And now it's really, really warm.  Like in the 80s warm.  Of course, it's not that warm in the mornings yet so I'm still layering for my morning commute.

Today I layered stripes and added some bikes:

Dress: c/o eShakti   Jacket: Lou & Grey (LOFT)  Boots: Nine West

This scarf is a recent purchase and I'm wearing it a lot.  I mean, a lot.  It's just so perfect though.  It's nice and lightweight and it has bikes on it.

Scarf: Modcloth

Bikes!  So, um, yeah, I'm wearing it a lot.

Happy Thursday, All!

Neon Peach Redux

Y'all, neon peach is my jam:

Gap dress (exact dress, different color), Ella Moss sandals via Piperlime & Target belt (similar)

It's really not surprising that I would love this color so much as it's also the name of the fictional all-girls 80s cover band with which I jam.  And, peach preserves are my favorite type of jam.  (Man, English is a weird language).

Today I wore my neon peach with turquoise and a bit of cobalt:

And, because neon peach is, unsurprisingly, I guess, a highly visible color, I'm linked up to Patti's Visible Monday at Not Dead Yet Style.

Happy Tuesday, All!

Bright and Stripe-y

My shoes are bright and my dress is stripe-y:

Old Navy dress (no longer available) (similar) and Tommy Hilfiger sandals via Piperlime (exact)

I think my dress is perfectly stripe-y and my shoes are perfectly bright, but Ferge thinks my shoes are too bright:

Nonsense.
