I'm taking a break from the Pantone colors for Fall 2015 today. Instead, I'm offering five office-friendly fringe pieces:
Depending on your office, fringe can be a hard sell. Heck, if you're over the age of 22 and not drunk in a field at a music fest somewhere, fringe can be a hard sell. But, I, personally, love it and am always on the lookout for fringed pieces that are also office friendly. Like the sandals I'm wearing in today's earlier post.
And like these five pieces here:
1. Thakoon for DesignNation Houndstooth Fringe Cardigan: This cardigan is a great mix of herringbone and houndstooth print with the added fun of fringe. You know you need a cardigan for fall; you may as well make it a fun one!
2. Ann Taylor Skinny Fringe Scarf: Skinny scarves are very "in" this season and the combination of print and fringe makes this one special.
3. Rebecca Minkoff Fringe Y-Necklace: Y-necklaces are lovely pieces and the fringe adds great movement to this one. Wear it over a turtleneck to break up any uniboob action that might be going on. Unless that's your look, then you do you. Always.
4. Delman "Sade" Pointy Toe Flats: The combination of blue snake finish and trim makes this sleek flat feel both stylish and a little subversive. But, only a little, so you don't get fired for your "darned Slytherin shoes!"
5. LOFT Fringe Blanket Skirt: I love blanket skirts. They totally remind me of the 90s and I'm delighted they're back. This one is in the perfect combination of fall colors and comes in regular, petite and tall (yay!).
What about you, Reader Friends? Do you like a little fringe for the office?
Happy Friday, All!

Five for Fall: Plaid
As I mentioned earlier this fall, I'm doing a series of posts on trends that I'm excited for. The first was Animals and the second is Plaid.
That's right, plaid is big again this fall and I, for one, couldn't be more thrilled. One of the reasons I like plaid is because it's both classic and on trend, depending on the colors and application. Another reason I like it is because it works for those who love color and those who prefer a more somber palette. And I love it because there are options other than flannel shirts in case "lumberjack chic" isn't your thing!
Here are some of my favorites for this fall:

Here are some of my favorites for this fall:
Clockwise from the top:
Gap Festive Plaid Car Coat - I love this coat for winter, it's a classic print but the solid sleeves make it modern. Available in Tall as well.
Dear Creatures Dress - I love the mix of plaids on this dress and the tasteful cut-outs. Available in sizes up to 4x.
Gap Plaid Always Skinny Jeans - I have these jeans (worn here) and highly recommend them; they are super comfortable. Available in Tall as well.
JOA Brushed Plaid Vest - Sleeveless coats, i.e. vests, continue to be popular this season and this one is perfect to wear with skinny jeans and boots.
Press Plaid Peplum Coat - This is a great example of a modern plaid piece. The bright colors and the peplum cut are very now and very cute!
Kohl's Plaid Scarf - I know I poked fun at oversized plaid scarves, but I couldn't resist this one. It's blue!
ModCloth Plaid Flats - If you have mild winters and love adorable flats, these are the shoes for you.
Betsey Johnson Fit & Flare Sweater Dress - Quite possibly the best sweater dress ever. Not a lot of sizes left, but what sizes there are are on sale!
And for more of my favorite plaid pieces and inspiration on how to rock it this fall, check out my Mad for Plaid Pinterest board!
What about you, Reader Friends? Is there any plaid in your wardrobe this fall?

The Big Maybe
For me, this outfit is a big maybe:
I mean, it has all the elements I love. It has leopard, it has mustard, it has pointy toes, and it has a vintage piece:
But, even with all that good stuff, I'm just not sure it's enough. I suspect this problem is with the proportions. I think the idea is there, but the dress is slightly too long. Or, maybe the pants are slightly too short. Or, maybe, just maybe, the shoes are slightly too flat.
I don't know which maybe is the culprit; perhaps the problem is that they all add up into one big maybe. And that's too bad, because I actually really liked this outfit. Being as it has all of the stuff I like in one place and all:
But, looking at the photos, I see it's just not quite right. Instead of a yes, it's just a maybe. Oh, well. It happens.
What about you, Reader Friends? Have you worn any maybes lately?

A Pop of Adorable
This outfit is all about the shoes. These shoes:
Happy Tuesday, All!
They are Via Spiga and I was lucky enough to find them in my
size at my local Goodwill and yes, those are hearts. Also, they
are friggin’ adorable.
I paired those adorable shoes with some polka dots because,
well, of course:

| That's lint, not lonely people glitter. ;-) |
The polka dot tunic is Foxcroft (similar) and is also thrifted. Although the tunic is navy, I paired it with
black pants (Vera Wang Simply Vera via Kohls) because, frankly I like black and
navy together. And I also really wanted
to let the shoes pop.
In fact, they’re a pop of color and
a pop of adorable. Win-win!
Happy Tuesday, All!

Knotted
As you know, I love me a striped shirt; I even recommended them in my wardrobe workhorses post. And this vertically striped shirt is definitely one of my favorites. So, I was pretty excited to find another way to wear it; knotted at the bottom:
In addition to the striped shirt (vintage, thrifted), I am also wearing another of my recommended wardrobe workhorses; dark pants. In this case, a pair of black twill skinnies (Simply Vera Vera Wang via Kohl's (similar here)). I added a neutral statement necklace (c/o Maurice's) but colorful shoes (Nine West via TJ Maxx).
And I don't mean to be smug, but I'm pretty sure this outfit totally justifies the inclusion of these items on my list.
Happy Monday, All!

It's pretty over-sized so I usually wear it tucked, but today I undid the last button and tied it up. I like that it alters the shape of the shirt into something more interesting than a straight-across hem.
