Bonus Footage: Gracey at the Wedding

Last Friday I left work early to attend a wedding in the country.   It was an absolutely gorgeous setting, surrounded by vineyards, hazelnut orchards (Are they orchards if they’re nuts?) and wildflower borders.  It was a casual affair, so I wore separates:

Specifically, I wore a vintage floral skirt (thrifted) that I paired with a cream, bow blouse (Old Navy).  I added a skinny belt (Gap), pewter sandals (Lovely People) and a burgundy eelskin clutch (vintage, thrifted).  I also added a cameo bracelet, vintage lion earrings and a heart necklace, because it was a wedding after all.

I apologize for not getting better outfit shots, but I did get some photos of the glorious scenery.  Here is the aforementioned vineyard:

The hazelnut orchard is back behind the tables and wildflower border:

And here is a close up of the wildflower border:

I love that they used flowers instead of fences.  I feel like that should be a T-shirt: Flowers, Not Fences.  Anyway, it was a wonderful wedding and both the setting and the weather were just perfect.

Happy Friday, Everyone!  And have a great weekend!

In the Valley of the Duplicates

Over the next two weeks I will be exploring an area in The Giants Closet called the Valley of the Duplicates.  So far in the Valley of the Duplicates, I have discovered seven white skirts and eight black skirts.

Yes, I own eight black skirts.  Sure, they are all of varying lengths, fabrication and style, but it’s still eight black skirts.  Which, if I’m honest, seems at least a bit excessive.  So, I will be wearing, tossing or wearing and then tossing all of those skirts over the next week or so.  Starting with this black maxi skirt:

I paired the skirt (Target) with a cobalt tie-front blouse (Old Navy) and pewter sandals (Lovely People via Piperlime).  I also added a cuff (thrifted) and yellow hoop earrings (Nordstrom)

This skirt is one of my more recent, pre-Nosh Opping Expedition purchases from a time when I was single-handedly keeping my local Target afloat.  In my defense, I had a black maxi skirt on my list for some time so it wasn’t an impulse purchase.  But, I did also have seven other black skirts in my closet at the time, so, yeah.

Still, I think this one’s a keeper.  As a giant it can be hard to find maxi skirts (and dresses) that are long enough, but I think this one works.  Also, it’s super comfortable, so, yes, this one stays.

Tomorrow, I will bring you Black Skirt # 2.

Happy Monday, All!

Kitschy Print #17

This dress is just further evidence that I love myself a kitschy print:

I feel justified with this one because I swear more than one fashion magazine said tropical prints were in.  So, I’m totally fashion-forward with this.  Not buying it?  Fine, I just like kitschy prints.  Today’s was thrifted and hemmed by yours truly.  Before I hemmed it, the dress was that awkward length between a midi and a maxi and it was a lot of kitsch, even for me.  Now, it’s just the perfect amount.

I paired the dress with a coral belt (Steven Madden via Ross) because I’ve decided to wear this belt with everything this summer.  And I added pewter sandals (Lovely People via Ideeli) instead of heels to keep the beach-y feel of the dress and because my tootsies still hurt from my night of wild 80s dancing on Friday.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and a happy Monday!
