One of the trends I loved most this summer was bold,
tropical prints. That love led me to Pin

Pattern mixing with a tropical floral? Yes, please!
When I first Pinned this look, I didn’t have the pieces to
recreate it. But then, during my Nosh
Opping Expedition, I saw the perfect jacket (with a matching skirt) at a local
Goodwill. Unfortunately, I couldn’t buy
it, what with the shopping ban and all, but my friend Alex, being the best
friend ever, later went back and bought it for me!
And so, it is the result of my friend’s generosity that
present to you my version of the above Pinspired look:
My jacket is vintage, thrifted and gifted (thanks, Alex!!)
and my striped tee is Old Navy. Cocoa-colored
short shorts don’t exist in my wardrobe so I wore rolled jeans (Gap Always
Skinny, sized up) instead. And I added a
patent belt (Nine West), pointy-toe pumps (thrifted), a turquoise bracelet
(gifted) and coral earrings (Crafty Wonderland).
Here is a close-up on the print on my jacket:
Now if I can just find a way to wear the matching skirt…
Happy Thursday, Everyone!
Gracey

Love your outfit, even more than the one you pinned! I would never have thought to put the stripes with the print but it does work! Also, I have been wondering for a few weeks where you got the term Nosh Opping, what it meant, etc., and then it came to me today, once I thought about it for more than a second, No Shopping....DUH!!
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! I'm always getting inspired on pinterest. Love the look:)
ReplyDeleteAren't friends like that wonderful?!! I love your take on the trend, I like it better with the jeans anyway, and you look radiant.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Lisa - I think you out-pinned the pin! Great look, I love those rolled up jeans on you : >
ReplyDeleteThis outfit makes me happy. Well, stripes plus anything make me happy, but that floral print is beautiful. So glad Alex went back and got it for you. :) Loving the pointy-toe shoes with the jeans, too - so chic!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it, Gracey! I've been searching the thrift stores for a cute floral blazer like this! The jeans look great rolled with the pumps, too!
ReplyDeleteHm, why not wear the striped top with the jacket's matching skirt, but without the jacket?
ReplyDeleteI like this look and you can't have too many friends like Alex.
Okay, so Gracey graduates into the Advanced Class at The Fashion Institute. Nice look. Come back and visit us tyros in the Beginner Class sometime. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great jacket find! It is a ringer for your inspiration photo. Great look!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Are you on twitter?
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic! What with your long legs and that adorable outfit and how awesome you are, plus, I love it when you wear your hair like this!
ReplyDeleteWow this IS a great pattern mix! And strange but I'd never thought of this before and I haven't seen a blogger post an outfit like this yet either! So I think it's very original and if I see it again I'll think of YOU first :) I don't have a tropical shirt or else I would try this.
