I’m not sure this is absolutely the best vintage dress I
have in my closet, but it’s definitely top three:
Unlike Tuesday’s dress that I tried to love, but just couldn’t,
I have no problems loving this dress. In
fact, I think it may be pert near perfect.
I love the strange little print (no idea what it is), the colors, the
jaunty little lady tie and the length.
Most of all though, I love the fit.
I don’t think this dress could be any more flattering even if it
whispered “hey baby, lookin’ good” every three steps.
Seriously, it’s even good from the side:
I paired the dress (vintage Anthony Richards, thrifted) with
a braided, cognac belt (thrifted) and cognac espadrille wedges (Corso Como via
Piperlime). I had originally thought to
pair this dress with red accessories but then I ousted my red wedges and got a
little stumped. But, I think like it just
as well, if not better, with the cognac accessories; the red might have been a
little too matchy-matchy.
Whether or not this is the best vintage dress in my closet
may be up for debate, but it is definitely the last that I needed to wear
before Maurice and I would be allowed to board the ship home from Nosh Opping. This weekend, I’ll post a wrap up of what got
ousted during the expedition; I actually got rid of a surprising amount of
clothes.
Happy Thursday, All!

I do love a tie neck! And you're right, that dress does fit you like a glove. You look great! Congrats on the completion of your expedition, and happy shopping!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is fantastic and fits you perfectly indeed! So beautiful!

This is an awesome dress!! You look amazing! And i feel like the print might be misshapen gingko leaves?
ReplyDeleteThat dress was just waiting for you to own it. It hits you in AAALL the right places. (: I am excited to see how much you purged.
ReplyDeleteI love it, this dress looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous dress! And I love that you paired it with neutral accessories. It really lets the dress stand out.
ReplyDeleteThat dress fits you like a dream - and looks fantastic with the cognac accessories. :) Yay for a cleaned-out closet - looking forward to the wrap-up post. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks good on you and love the print. You know a vintage piece when you see one

Hooray for journey's end! This is a fabulous dress, and the fit is totally perfect. (I think that is some kind of floral print, somewhat abstract, obviously.)
ReplyDeleteYou're right, this is one o' your bestest of your many cool dresses.
ReplyDeleteAfter sharing the venture through Nosh Opping with you, and even booking a trip there myself, inspired by both you and Terri from Rags, I can hardly wait to see what you buy first :)
This dress IS a perfect fit. Good call on the belt and shoes. I wonder how it would look if you left the tie undone, unbuttoned a few of the buttons, and wore a cami or a complimentary necklace....?
ReplyDeleteSuperb dress. It really enhances your appearance.
ReplyDeleteVery flattering! And I love that you paired it with my favorite accessory color: cognac.
ReplyDeleteThe print looks like three leaf clovers maybe? In white and red? I'm not sure either. It's cute though. And you totally look amazing in it. That side shot? Major. So major.

Wow, this dress looks amazing on you! (I can see why you like it so much, the fit is just fantastic!) Id have to agree with you, I like the brown add ons, I think red shoes would have been too matchy-matchy. Very pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteit's certainly a great one!
ReplyDeleteI really love the wedges. Super neat. The dress made you look like from the 60's. A great apple bottom hair style would have done the trick.
ReplyDeleteThe dress fits you perfectly, and I like the print. I always think brown accessories work well with blues.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great dress! Loving the print... I'm so jealous you found such an amazing piece thrifting! I never have luck ;)

ReplyDeleteThis dress is perfect for you. I love it. Could the print be leaves, perhaps?
