I gave up on my separates-wearing today and went with a
dress:
I love how easy dresses are; which is why I think I have so
many. Anything that requires a minimum of
effort on my part will always find a home in my closet. I mean, it’s just a dress (vintage), flats
(Target), a belt (Gap) and a bracelet (vintage). Does it get any easier than that?
And I definitely needed easy today. I’m getting off early today for Last Thursday
(so excited!!!) so I have to rush to get stuff done at work. It’s a busy day and not only is my dress
easy, it’s appropriately busy. But, I
like this print, both the busy-ness and the colors. I’m a big fan of bright floral prints, but I
think those with deeper tones are easier to style year-round. I’m already looking forward to wearing this
dress with riding boots and tights this fall.

ReplyDeleteI love dresses as well for the ease of them, but I fall into the darn blogger trap of going, "it's too simple! I need to jazz this up, throw a vest on or something!" and then I miss just the simplicity of a beautiful dress. This dress has such a lovely print, I really like how you just let the dress shine and then added a little color with your pretty open-toed heels. :)

I find it interesting that you describe wearing a dress as easy. (And this one is lovely.) Since I can't wear clothes like this in public, I'm not familiar with the ease of different outfits. Your notion counters what I would have expected because, when I wear a dress (in private), I always feel more glamorous than with just separates and put more energy into my presentation. I like learning about female life from pros like you, out there on the battlefront.

Dresses are the best, but I get where you're coming from. I'm finding it's hard to style my favorites in ways that are different enough to be featured on my blog. There are only so many shoe/ belt combinations a girl can do! Have a great weekend!
