Strange Happenings in the Land of Nosh Opping

I found these pants in my closet the other day.  Found.  Not rediscovered, not finally remembered, found:

Matiko 'Ella' Wedges

I literally have no idea where they came from.  I mean, the tag says “Gap” but I have absolutely no idea how they got from the Gap to the Giants Closet.  I found them in a tiny, blink-and-you’ll-miss it village called Pantslandia.  They were hanging out with the other pants of the village, but while I remember purchasing all of the other pants (including some from 4 years ago!); I don’t remember buying these pants.  (Or receiving them as a gift; which would be weird but would at least explain where they came from).

After I got over my surprise in finding these in Pantslandia, I decided to wear them.  I paired the pants (Gap) with a black and white striped tee (Old Navy), black belt (Nine West via Ross),  Matiko wedges (via Ideeli) and my apple pendant (Ally Hoot Vintage).  Sure it’s a lot of neutrals but I liked it.  And I like these pants.  However they made their way to Pantslandia, I think that they’ll stay.

Which is great news because I'm pretty sure my blogger friend Tia is writing a musical about pants and I've begged for a part.  Or, failing that, I have it on good authority, from my other blogger friend Kish that “So You Think You Can Pants” is totally a possibility for Fox next summer.  Both excellent reasons to have pants in ones closet, right?

Happy Wednesday, Everyone!

  4. Mystery pants are the best pants! Also, these totally have won you the role in Pants! The Musical, which may or may not be undergoing a title change to Mystery Pants! The Musical Mystery. I'm not sure! But these pants, they must be in my musical, they are so gorgeous.

Also. THOSE. SHOES. I am full of envy.

  8. Ha! I've found lots of old clothes buried in the depths of my closet over the years, but I have yet to find anything that I don't remember purchasing!

I love those wedges, by the way - they look super comfy.

  12. This outfit strikes me as outside your usual comfort zone, since it's so neutral, but I really, really love it. You look fantastic.

  13. Lovely look - I think the black and white stripes + the gray pants are so chic. The full leg and cut of those pants suit you so well. And those wedges are fantastic. :)
Perhaps it's breeding season in Pantslandia? That would be a problem if your goal is to purge the closet.

  14. maybe they were left there by an alternate version of you who then became you, but before that had an awful, awful memory span. Or. maybe it's from the future you, in which case, you wouldn't know about them YET until much later when you DO purchase them and forget where you put them.

  16. I found a Mystery Bracelet in the closet the other day, which I most definitely didn't buy--Mike didn't quite remember it either, but said that he might have found it somewhere. Score, free mystery bracelet! Not quite as nice as mystery pants, though, especially not when those fit you so well. Natty!

  19. I just adore your sense of humour :) Your posts always make me smile and you always hit on something so relatable. I recently had a mysterious closet appearance too! Tried sleuthing it out, but still have no idea where the garment in question came from. I'd say this pair is pants win though...they are the perfect fit for you and a great colour!

  20. There are Clothes Fairies that sneak into our closets late at night. Fortunately for you, they sometimes leave things.

  22. You are hilarious Gracey! I love finding things in my closet, I just finished unpacking my summer box and found tons of pieces I'd totally forgotten about, it was like a bonus wardrobe. Speaking of bonuses... I'm loving your wedges, they are impossibly cute and perfect with your "new" pants!

  23. Ha, that's so funny!! If I would just take a few minutes to clean out and organize my closet, I bet I'd find a few priceless items, too. =)

  24. Ok. So strange that these pants happened into the land of your pants on their own. That happened to me recently with cat hair in my closet. Just appeared there! :)

  26. That is a fabulous, fabulous outfit. The fit and silhouette is so flattering on you, the stripes and light pants are perfect for summer and on trend, and that pop of red from the necklace keeps it fresh and interesting.

One of my favorites of yours, for sure. I may try to steal this look!
