I love the black background on this tropical print
jacket. It reminds me of the deepest,
darkest jungle:
And it’s more “appropriate” for winter than a brighter
tropical print might be.
I also love the Karina dress (Marisa, c/o Karina Dresses)
that I paired it with. This dress has
been a closet workhorse since I received it a couple of years ago. It’s held its shape beautifully and is so
easy to layer so it can be worn year round.
In addition to the jacket (vintage, gifted) and the dress, I also wore
tights (Spanx via Nordstrom) and boots (Gap).
I also added coral statement necklace (via Piperlime) to complement the
colors on the jacket.
Happy Thursday, All!

Similar jacket (And by similar I mean, vintage tropical print with a black background)
Similar Karina dress (It doesn’t look like the Marisa is currently
available, but I strongly recommend the Audrey for its similar cut).
Similar boots
Similar necklace

What a great outfit. I love the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteThat jacket reminds me of the dress I got~ You know, the sleeveless, flowered one, with the Asian feel, and had similar colors?
ReplyDeleteYou look cute, btw :)
You totally rock the all black look! Love the addition of a statement jacket!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

I love this. It is so cute.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is gorgeous. I've heard so many good things about Karina dresses.
ReplyDeleteVery smart look! And hooray for dark florals; I wore one today myself, although not, alas, a *tropical* dark floral.
ReplyDeleteYou know I love a Karina dress : > This one is gorgeous for you and the dark florals are so great for winter.
ReplyDeleteStop being so cool. You're adorable.
ReplyDeleteWild and mysterious! Fabulous necklace, great dress, and you're my favourite for putting "appropriate" in scare quotes.
ReplyDelete(where it belongs!)
DeleteI love dark florals, which I'm seeing a lot lately. I'm working on getting more of that in my wardrobe! Your outfit looks great!
ReplyDeleteElegant and fun outfit. :) The tropical print jacket is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI would never go for that print myself, but the colors in it are just so fantastic... I think I'm liking it more and more as I think about it. (: That dress really fits you well, by the way. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteLove that jacket so much! I swear it's almost the exact print of this tunic dress I had when I was younger that I wish I held onto. It looks so pretty popped against the black dress & with that sweet little coral necklace :-)
ReplyDeleteDo they sell that necklace with the jacket? I've never seen jewelry complement an item so perfectly. Smart choice.
ReplyDeleteThis might be one of my favorite outfits of yours so far! I would never had imagined that a tropical print was actually wearable and looking fashionable. As I have a black similar dress, I need to keep my eyes open for tropical print now.
ReplyDeleteThe black dress, boots and tights are a perfect backdrop for the star of the show - a tropical explosion of a jacket! Love the colours and the orange necklace too.
ReplyDeleteDid Neon Peach ever do a cover of Club Tropicana? I do hope so... Hmm, I fancy a cocktail now!
Have a great weekend, Gracey! xxxx
Love the colorful jacket with a monochromatic black look! hehe is a bit junglish looking but that's cool... maybe wear one of your elephant accessories with it next time ;)
ReplyDeletelovely combo with the jacket and necklace, the black dress definitely gets a colored day out. Love the look for work as much as for a cocktail event! You look fab!
ReplyDeleteHi I am wondering where do you get your tights from? They seem to fit!! I'm 5'11 size 14 and the L ones don't get up my thighs whereas the XL ones are loose on the waist! Thanks C.
ReplyDeleteHi C!
DeleteIn this post: http://fashionforgiants.blogspot.com/2012/11/reader-question-tights-for-tall-girls.html I give away all my tights secrets, but in short, I really like Hue and Spanx with a smattering of Target, DKNY & Nordstrom thrown in.
