It is. Except that it’s
not yellow. It’s mustard, or goldenrod,
if you will. But, really, whatever color
you call it, yes, it’s a lot:
I don’t know what possessed me to go so boldly,
monochromatically mustard today. I think
it’s just because I could. I had all of
the pieces and figured “why not”? The
pieces of which I speak are a sweater skirt (vintage via Value Village), a bow
blouse (Gap), a cashmere sweater (via Goodwill) and tights (Target). I also added a studded belt (Michael Michael
Kors via Nordstrom) and riding boots (Born Crown “Sosie” via Nordstrom).
This is not something I would usually wear and I doubt I’ll
wear all of these pieces together again.
I like mustard and I like monochromatic looks, but the two combined in
one outfit is just a lot of look, even for me. It was a fun experiment though and well worth
the confusion on my co-workers faces.
Happy Wednesday, All!
Gracey

That is one of my absolute favourite colours and I think you look great!
ReplyDeleteYou are so bold and I love it! I felt out there even wearing just yellow tights, but this is a whole new level of awesome :) You wear it well and I think your skirt is especially sweet :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a fun kind of bragging: "I have all these pieces in mustard and nobody else does, ha ha". Just right with the belt and boots.
ReplyDeleteyou look fab though! i adore the color on you!
ReplyDeletekw Ladies in Navy
you look lovely, I'd like to see you adda little navy blue to break it up just a teeny bit.
ReplyDeleteIt's the perfect shade of yellow, and I love that you've got brown boots on to finish it off! Going all out head to toe one colour is one of my favourite things to do, but I haven't done it in ages! :)
ReplyDeleteI salute you. That is BOLD. It looks great, though!
ReplyDeleteAnd one day I will figure out how to do that half-tuck thing without looking like a goofball. That day is not here yet, and will doubtless arrive after everybody else has moved on.
Oh Gracey, you are fantastic! I love your monochrome look, that bow blouse, and your wicked-awesome accessories.
ReplyDeleteBold and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow, I think you look amazing! I probably would not have tried a monochromatic outfit myself, but now I want to! The more I look at the your outfit, the more I am liking it. Your boots and belt are just perfect with the "goldenrod"!
ReplyDeleteI feel like a woos. I only own one pair of mustard tights, and here you are, dressed in glorious mustard, head to toe. You're tall, vivacious, and bold in your color choice, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
ReplyDeleteIt's a fabulous colour, Gracey, and you look fabulous in it! The brown belt and boots just add another accent, but I say go for it, all one colour looks so amazing! After all, people dress head-to-toe in black ALL the time, why not in a bright colour?
ReplyDeleteAnd you have great legs! xxxx
You look so mod and hip in this outfit, I love it!! One of my favorites on you for sure. Great color and love the skirt shape. Very flattering skirt indeed. Love the finish on those boots too. Rugged a bit, LOVE!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, it must've been yellow tights day yesterday because I wore mine, too! And I matched my shoes to my tights, which also made me feel like I was wearing a lot of yellow.
ReplyDeleteSecond of all, when I saw the Michael Kors spring collection email in my inbox, I noticed you are right on trend! Hopefully that link works. It was the view-in-browser link from the email. Otherwise, here's the link to the outfit on the website.
When you said Value Village I had a wee pang in my heart. I used to spend ALL DAY in there when I lived in Seattle. Golly, I miss it. And that mustard (dijon, marigold, whatever you want to call it) colour is really good on you. Not everyone can pull off that warmer shade of yellow. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, that IS a lot of yellow! The tights really put it over the top. But this shade of mustard/goldenrod looks really nice with your coloring! Maybe next time you could colorblock? I'm picturing the mustard pairing well with maroon, or even a medium green, like fern.
ReplyDeleteNow this is monochromatic!!
ReplyDeleteI love the color mustard, but not so much straight up yellow
Brett
i like this color on you, a lot. so go monochormatic mustard gracey!
ReplyDeleteAh, you teach me things, Gracey. I had to google 'goldenrod'. And it is exactly that colour! I really like the en masse goldenrod, it looks so cheerful. Lovely legs too, madam...
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome on you!! You go girl! xoxo Lynn
