Taking some of the awesome advice I received from yesterday’s
post, I decided to forgo the jeans today and wear some warmer fabrics. Specifically, silk, wool and silk-lined wool:
And, for the most part, it worked. My feet are still cold, but I think that’s
kind of their thing. My torso is
definitely warmer with the layers of silk and wool than with yesterday’s cotton
sweater, even though it was a pretty dense knit. I think I may also be warmer because of the
pattern mixing going on; few things warm the cockles of my heart like pattern
mixing:
Thank you all again for the tips on staying warm, with a
special shout out to Secret Squirrel and her Nan; I tried the silk scarf
layered under a knit scarf this morning and it was brilliant!
Happy Tuesday, All!
Gracey

I am *so* pleased to hear that! :-)
ReplyDelete1.Black, white and red is one of my favorite color combinations, and you are rocking it!
ReplyDelete2.I think people should use "cockles" in everyday conversation waaay more often than they do.
3.I didn't know merino footless tights were a thing! When my shopping ban is up, I must find myself a pair!
Yay! Sweater skirts are the best!
ReplyDeleteThe pop of red is AWESOME on you. Great pattern mixing too. I'm finding it hard to stay stylish and warm at the same time these days so thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

Oooh, I shall have to try a silk scarf under a knit scarf myself. My feet are always cold too, even with woollen hiking socks on, tall girl problems I think. You look divine, I love the whole outfit, but especially the skirt. x
ReplyDeleteYou look so chic and elegant, no one would guess this outfit is designed with warmth in mind! Love the houndstooth mixing and that skirt is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteGlad you feel a little less chilly, Gracey, apart from the toes! xxxxx
Lovely mix of patterns and wearing red makes you feel warmer, right? :)
ReplyDeleteLove these prints! And so classic with the red skirt.
ReplyDeleteNow *that* is some pattern mixing, and the red skirt is totally brilliant with it. Animal fibres for the win, when it comes to staying warm, and high on the list of reasons why I strongly dislike acrylic knits; they just don't keep me warm.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this mix. The skirt is incredible. Wool is usually my secret to staying warm. I busted out the leg warmers today though.
ReplyDeleteFantastic red knit skirt, Gracey! Such a modern classic.
