I’m not sure today’s photos are really doing this dress
justice. They’re skewing a little cobalt
when, in truth, this dress is a lovely, deep indigo:
Not that there is anything wrong with cobalt. I love cobalt. But this dress is not cobalt, it’s indigo. I think these photos show it a little bit better:
Hmmph. Maybe not.
But this photo
definitely shows me doing The Duck Face Robot, which is a dance I made up this morning:
Ducks and robots aside, my dress is indigo, not cobalt. And it’s vintage and warm (wool/acrylic blend)
and has pockets, so it’s basically awesome.
In addition to my awesome dress of awesome indigo-ness, I also wore a
turtleneck (Gap), tights (Hue via Macys) over which I wore OTK socks
(Nordstrom), and suede boots (Naughty Monkey via Nordstrom). I also added a studded belt (JC Penney) and neon
pink studs (Kate Spade New York via Nordstrom).
Also, if you don’t know who the Indigo Girls are, we may
need to have a talk. At the very least
you should watch this video (to which you could dance The Duck Face Robot if you wanted):
You're welcome.
Happy Wednesday, All!
Gracey

I love your dress no matter what color it photographs!

Wait. Indigo? I think that dress is cobalt. Definitely cobalt. :)
ReplyDeleteYour dress, belt and dance moves are all awesome!
Duck face Robot?! Brillant. I know how to do the Poo Face, but I clearly need to add this to my repetoire.
ReplyDeleteYep, the frock comes up cobalt on my screen, but I imagining a lovely indigo, like a Mexican doorframe....it looks awesome in anycase, and your waist looks soooo tiny! :)
Great dress - love the belt!
ReplyDeleteYou need to do a vlog to show us that dance. :)
ReplyDeleteCobalt, indigo, I don't mind which - it's a fabulous frock! And just LOOK what it does for your boobage! Most impressive, Gracey! And it sounds as though you would keep warm in this outfit too, so that's a bonus. I am wondering if I might need to reconsider sweater dresses... Food for thought.
ReplyDeleteThe video clip won't play on my IPad so I will have to check out which song you chose on the PC. Haven't listened to any Indigo Girls for ages. I'll have to reconsider that too!
Love your dance face. You got the moves like Daffy. xxxxxx
Love a dress with Pockets! And your duck face robot dance. I made up a song and dance yesterday, called who rocks the Chappati? To the tune of Who rocks the party by Flight of the Conchords.
ReplyDeleteMy introduction to the Indigo Girls came back in the late 80s, when I saw them opening for R.E.M., and oh god, did I just date myself or what?
ReplyDeleteI take you at your word that it's indigo, and it looks great with the black.
I adore the color of this dress- whatever color it's supposed to be. I love the cut and you're sporting it quite well missy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color and it looks amazing on you. Wow.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dress, color and fit, Gracey -- and the duck dance is to be enshrined in your "best pictures" album!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great color combo here
ReplyDeleteThe belt is perfect with the dress and the neckline of the dress is so flattering on you.

How ever did you guess that I was just now needing a new favourite dance??? This outfit is fabulous on you, Gracey! Amazing dress and boots.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, still chuckling! Love your sense of humor, as always, and lovely outfit today!
ReplyDeleteWhatever color it is, it's really, really, really pretty! And the dress looks so chic with those boots and other accessories (in spite of the Duck Face Robot).
ReplyDeleteLooks indigo to me! And I LOVE indigo. I think you need to send that dance over to my e-party tomorrow. ;)
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful shade of blue. I love it with the black belt and those awesome boots.
ReplyDeleteLove the duck face robot!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat dress. I love dresses with pockets:)

I LOVE this color on you! It's so pretty! Though I have to say, since you wear this saturated color so well, I really think you could pull off emerald too - they're so close on the color wheel! But I'll stop preaching my love of green :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE this dress and belt, Gracey.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll keep an eye out on my blog later today. I'll be featuring this as one of the looks I love today.
