Monday Blues (and Browns)

Daily Outfit for Monday, April 25, 2011

Today was a strange day, weather-wise.  Although you can't really tell from these pictures, it was crazy-windy here today.

For part of my ride I was riding into a headwind so strong I felt like I was trying to peddle through quicksand.  It was hard going, but the idea of slow-motion bike riding is hilarious to me and actually made me laugh out loud during some of the windier spots.

At least it wasn’t terribly cold.  I was warm enough in my skinny jeans (Old Navy), tunic (via Galore), cardigan (Old Navy), blue scarf (H&M) and boots (Target).  I wanted to wear a skirt today, but the wind completely killed that idea.  I’ve only had my skirt blow up once while riding, but that was enough.  I try to avoid that at all costs now; I'm sure you understand.

I hope that everyone had a lovely Easter weekend!

Gracey

  6. I learning to love prints like your tunic as they are really very versatile. I had to laugh at your comment about bicycling in quicksand, as that is how an exercise bike seems to me.

  7. Lovely! I really like the silhouette of this outfit. The lines are very clean and flattering, but sill comfortable, and thus, super pretty! :)

As for the wind, I don't think it understands our collective skirt-less pain. Perhaps an underlayer of leggings would help?

  10. Love the print of your top :) Darn wind - one time it actually pushed me backwards on my bike like I'd discovered reverse gear for the first time. After that I walked. ;)

  19. Gracey...this is absolutely my favorite outfit thus far! I LOVE you in those skinny jeans (very slimming) and the way you paired them with everything long on top (that cardi is excellent) is perfect! The short boots just take it to the next level (yes, there are levels with fashion)!! lol You are such a cutie batootie!! lol You are a blessing to me. Thanks for all your sweet comments.

  22. I was at a place in new mexico today with 40 mph winds! it was ridiculous. I have no desire to ride my bike through that

  24. I like those boots -- what kind of a heel do they have?

    ReplyDelete
  25. @Kari - They have a stacked heel - about an inch and a half, maybe two inches at most. Very manageable.
