I love pairing brights with stripes. For me it’s a win-win as it combines two of
my favorite things. And today’s bright/stripe outfit is no
exception:

I paired the coral skirt (Banana Republic) with a navy and
white striped dolman-sleeve tee (Target) which I layered over a white tank
because it’s crazy sheer. I added gray
suede boots (Circa by Joan and David "Ralco" via Piperlime), my silver fringe necklace (Jessica
Simpson Collection via Macys) and a few bracelets (self-made, local artisan,
Macys). And, of course, I love it. The pieces are a little less structured than
I usually like for my body, but I can’t deny it’s comfortable. And bright.
And stripe-y. So, yeah. Love.
Do you know what else I love? This new lip gloss/stain. I’ve wanted to try a brighter lip for awhile
now but was a bit nervous about it.
Until I found this YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain in Rouge Gouache:

Seriously, I love this stuff. And I’m not just saying that because YSL is
sponsoring me. Because they aren’t. Though I’d totally be open to that. Hedi, call me.
Happy Thursday, All!

That lip color is so pretty on you! :) And, you cannot go wrong with stripes in my book. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this! Brights with stripes - great combo. I like the laid-back feeling of the outfit with the slouchy shirt. I'm pretty sure that top would make me look pregnant, but it looks really cute on you!
ReplyDeleteHaha!! We're totally twinsies today. =) It's funny that I felt the exact same way about my outfit... It wasn't structured, but it was comfortable and the colors were cute, so I liked it. lol And I'm actually wearing a lip stain, too! So funny!
ReplyDeletei love boots and skirts, ideal for the inbetweenie weather too. you look fab!! :)x
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit! But I especially love the lip color.. I've been looking for something just like that.

Great combo and my favorite thing are those luscious boots, YUM!
ReplyDeleteThose boots are CUUUTE!....I struggle with a lip too. I like the way lipstick looks, but I hate how it feels after a few hours. My lips molt once a day. BLERG!

Stripes and brights are so right on you! I love how the shirt has a unique look to it with the curved front. And these boots are really cool!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with the stripes/brights thing! It's a good way to go. Love how you styled it!

nicee look honey, i really love this combination of colorss , you are so modern!
ReplyDeletenice to meet your blog!
xx
I, too, am drooling over those beautiful boots!!! But you're right: the stripes and coral ensemble is a sweet choice and looks awesome on you.
ReplyDeleteQuestion about lip stain: if one slips while applying stain and gets some outside the lip line, is the stain there for the day? (apologies if this is naive: I've nervously avoided lip stains to date)
The answer is sometimes. The lip stain I wore to 80s Prom last Friday was a true lip stain and I looked like I had little-kid-Kool-Aid mouth after a bit where I'd missed my lips. This is a gloss/stain combination and so if I miss my lip a bit, it comes off easily. I'd definitely recommend a gloss/stain combo instead of a true stain.
DeleteI really need to try lip stain...it sounds so appealing compared to lipstick. And I'm sure YSL's is fab!!! Loving your striped shirt, the hemline has such a cute rounded touch!

I've been visiting you for awhile, but this is my first time commenting (why, I don't know!!) I love the colors in this outfit, the drape of the fabrics and the boots. It's pretty much perfection. Plus, I just read about that lipstain in a magazine and was glad to hear your take on it.
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit so much! The sheer top, the coral, your lip stain, those amazing boots - it all works together so perfectly!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Love your skirt and top and boots!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI totally adore this combo, and yes, that lip color is gorgeous on you.

I'm going to refrain from ACTUALLY singing "Lip Gloss" while typing here, but I want you to know that I'm thinking it very loudly. (And in tune, while we're at it.)
