Floranimal and Pleats

I’m pretty much obsessed with this floranimal (floral & animal = floranimal) blouse:

I know it’s kitschy as all heck; but I’m pretty sure that’s why I like it.  That and because it lends itself to made up words, like floranimal.  Anybody who knows me knows two things I like are kitschy prints and made up words.

Today I paired my floranimal blouse (vintage, thrifted) with a pleated skirt (thrifted) and animal print wedges (Tahari via DSW) because two other things I like are pleated skirts and mixing floranimal with animal.  I also added some gold bangles (Nordstrom), a patent belt (Steve Madden via Ross) and earrings (Nikki Jacoby “Labyrinth”):

And that’s it for me.  I’m off early today because I’m going to the Black Keys concert tonight.  And I’m off tomorrow because I’m going to the Black Keys concert tonight.

Happy Monday, Everyone!

  3. I sort of adore you for saying the word over and over again. I'm not sure it holds any meaning for me anymore after reading it and reading it. XD It's the perfect kitschy Gracey print though. Also, your hair is totes adorbs like this.

  4. Floranimal! I can't stop saying it, and it's all your fault, Gracey!

Oh, how I long for a pleated skirt, and cannot find one. It stinks to be a shrimp. I am insane with jealousy, and may stop getting dressed altogether :(

Seriously, you look beautiful. Very classy look. I like what you did with the skinny belt.

  8. Made up words are fun. I remember saying "ginormous" all the time before it became an official word. I guess it isn't as fun now because it isn't made up anymore :) Pretty skirt!

  16. Floranimal- love the term and love the top, it's so you! And dang you have nice legs- the short pleated skirt shows them off perfectly! My friend just went to see black Keys in Toronto (I will admit to not knowing who they are), but they must be pretty good if you need to take the next day off work ;)

  18. For some reason from that first photo i thought the skirt was going to be ankle length... Boy, was I wrong! I love the length and the pleats are perfect! I never find good skirts while thrifting and am totally jealous of that great find. I can't say I would have gone for that print on the blouse right away, but you've totally won me over with it. Love it!!
