As a giant, I often repurpose dresses as tunics. Today is one of those days:
This tunic was sold as a dress for non-giants as part of the
Jason Wu for Target collection. As you
can see, it’s not even close to being dress length on me, but I liked it, so I
decided to buy it anyway (on clearance, of course) and wear it as a tunic.
I paired the dress/tunic with cropped skinnies (Bandolino
via Macys), a vintage Perry Ellis blazer (thrifted) and my new color-blocked,
crazy-patterned wedges (Statement of Purpose Wedge via Modcloth).
I’ve been looking for a pair of color-blocked, colorful
wedges for some time and finally found these a Modcloth:

I think I might love them.
I also love the fact that my week is nearly done. After tomorrow I have a four-day weekend in
which I will proceed to do mostly nothing, probably.
Happy Wednesday, All!
Gracey

I was actually looking at that dress on ebay last night! How funny. I found a pair of Missoni for Target heels yesterday and was comparing prices, and I just happened to decide to see what Jason Wu stuff was going for. Ouch, those prices hurt! Those shoes are great as well. There's an online store (blowfish?) that has the best pair of color-blocked wedges ever, but I'm too cheap to spend 50 bucks on shoes I don't get to try on beforehand.

I love wearing "dresses" as tunics! Even though I'm not technically a giant, heighting in at 5'8", the juniors department sure thinks I am!
ReplyDeleteThose wedges are AWESOME. Also I'm taking Friday off too to make it a four day weekend. HOORAY FOR TIME NOT AT WORK!!
I really love the dress-tunic! The colors are wonderful and look great paired with jeans. I have the opposite problem, being barely 5'3". Even tunics become dresses on me and I look like I am drowning. Love the wedges as well - lovely outfit!

Ah yes, the repurpose, I know it well! Cute outfit and I'm in love with those shoes! Yes ma'am.
ReplyDeleteThose are some lurvely shoes. You know, I do the dress as a shirt thing with my kids. They get shirts that are too big so I put them on them as dresses and when they start to grow out of dresses, they become shirts. BARGAIN.
